Welcome back to Netsuite Supertraining. In this lesson I'm going to walk you through actually logging into Netsuite for the first time, setting your password as well as setting your security questions. Now, if you're already using that suite, you probably don’t need the information in this video. But if it is your first time, I'm going to walk you through this now.

So in this instance, I'm using the Microsoft Edge browser. But really, you can use any browser to do this. And I'm just using Google as a search engine, but anything works. Let's just click in Netsuite here. So if we just type in Netsuite and do a search on that. Now, keep in mind the first thing that comes up here is actually a promo. You don't want to click on that, but if you go underneath the sponsored ad, you get the actual Netsuite web page. So let's open that up. But also notice the first entry, the kind of sub entry down here is actually the login window. So I'll show you what happens if you click on either one of them.

Okay. So the web page should look like this. Obviously, the banner here is moving, but the basic website layout should look like this. If you get something else, you've probably gone to more of a promotional page. So make sure you're on the actual Netsuite page. And if you move to the top right here, you'll see there's a little log in button and that's what you're going to click on. And that will lead you to the same page that I have here. So you notice if I clicked on it straight from Google, it actually gives you the exact same page. So you can skip straight there.

Now, the first things you're going to do is input your email and your password. Now, there's really two ways that you're going to get to this point. Either one, your administrator has given you a password, kind of a temporary password to use, or you've received some kind of an email that allows you to click on a button that takes you straight to a window that will let you set your own password. So regardless of which way you go, in this case, I'm doing it as if an administrator is giving you the password, but the results will be the same.

So let's put in our email address first. There's our email and then I'll type in the password for this account. It's got a little button on the right. If you click it, it will show you the password. Just make sure you're typing it correctly. Few things to note on this page. You have the remember me button. If you're logging on from a computer that you're going to be using quite often, it's good to click that and then your data will be stored and you're able to log in immediately. You also have this forgot your password, which is just like any other kind of account or log in. If you forget your password, you can click on that, supply the email that had access and you'll get a new password or reset basically sent to you.

Another thing to keep in mind is if you incorrectly put your password in six times, it will actually lock you out. So you'll either have to wait a certain amount of time or you'll have to go to your administrator and get them to reset your password. So just keep in mind you've got six tries and if you can't remember it, just click the forgot your password and you can get a reset on your password.

So let's say we have that all set and we go to log in. So we've been brought to a page where we need to set what our new permanent password is. Now, you're not necessarily going to run into this page. In this case, the company that I'm logging into has it set up where as soon as you log in for the first time, you do have to newly set your password because the password you were given is really a temp password. So you'll set your permanent password that you are responsible for. However, there are some companies, there's an option where you don't necessarily have to click that. So you could log in with the temp password. It is best practice to change your password immediately. So I'm going to show you how to do that. But again, the rules are exactly the same.

So in this case, I'm going to put what my old password is and I'm going to put a new password. And down here, you can see the various roles that I'm going to have access to in this case, the administrator, and some various additional roles. So I'm going to click submit.

So now we've made it to the actual Netsuite page itself. And the first thing you're going to have is it's going to ask you to set what your security questions are. Now, these security questions, depending on the settings for your company, they'll either be used to in some cases, every time that you log in, you'll have to put in a security question or in instances where maybe you're using a different computer that's not used for the system. It'll ask you for a question or anything else that's maybe alarming to the system. It'll provide you one of these questions. You do have the option. You can say remind me later or not set them right there, but we highly recommend that you set them immediately.

So it's done. And if there's any instance in which you do need to use the security questions, you've already set them and you know them. So in this case, I'm just going to fill them out real quick. You've got a few different options. Let's just choose a few. They're not case sensitive and let's save those.

So now we're actually in Netsuite and we've successfully logged in and set our security questions. In the next video, I'm going to be showing you how to reset things like your email password and security questions, as well as a couple administrator tricks. So I'll see you in the next video.
