In this video, we show you how to set up or change your log in details on NetSuite, including security questions, passwords, and email addresses.
Welcome back. In the last lesson I showed you how you would log into NetSuite for the first time if your administrator had given you a temporary password allowing you to log in.
However, there is a second option, which is that your administrator has sent you an email containing a link allowing you to set your password. So we're going to be taking a look at that option now. So here I am in my Microsoft Edge browser. I'm going to go to my email and as you can see here, I have a new email, so I'm going to click on that. This is the email you got from your administrator.
And in this case, I'm in an account with ABC Audio Company and it gives a generic little email. It says the name of the company and it provides a link. So if I click on this hyperlink, it takes me to NetSuite and it basically gives you this page allowing you to input a password. So obviously this is going to be a permanent password. It's something you should make sure you have recorded in a safe place, Put the password in twice, make sure you match all these parameters. It's pretty standard for password and then hit continue.
All right. So the password has been set and so I can now log in. So let's go to our browser and let's go to NetSuite. So as I said in the last video, this is actually a promo, so let's skip past that. And if you scroll down, it has the actual NetSuite site and we can click on that, but we can also just go straight to this sub tab here and click on Login and it takes us straight to the login page.
So we're going to put in the email that we're logging in with and we're going to put in the password that we just set. And we do want to click Remember Me so that in any future instance it can automatically set the password. That's especially for a computer that you can be using regularly so that you don't have to always remember the password. It just has it there for you. And if you forget your password, you do have the link down there for forgot your password. And if you try to sign in six times incorrectly, it will lock you out. So just make sure you're able to log in within that time period. And if not, you'll have to go to your administrator to unlock or wait 30 minutes until it auto unlocks.
But we've got everything in there. So let’s login. Okay, So it takes us to NetSuite, but the first thing it's going to do is ask us to set our security questions. These get used, for example, if you're using a new computer to log in NetSuite, I'll ask you a security question or if you forget your password. So it's very important to just answer these immediately. You can hit remind me later, but it's best practice just to put them in. It takes a minute. And by the magic of editing, the answers are now there and I can hit save.
Okay, good. Now I have access to my NetSuite home dashboard and that's it for logging into Net Suite for the first time using an email from your administrator. I'll see you in the next video.
